What You Do Is Nothing New But How You Do It Can Be DifferentBy

Have you ever struggled for days, weeks, and even months trying to figure out how to make your business stand out? Everyone's done. We thought we were doing something so slick and smooth and that no one could possibly be our competition. Only to find out that either (a) there's a reason why there was no competition or (b) there's a lot more competition than you thought.
But, the truth is what you're doing in your business isn't new but how you do it can be different.
I know what you're thinking, "but, Latrisha the only way to get clients/customers is to be different and do something no one has ever experienced before." But, let's think about this. Who really likes something new? Everyone is very skeptical about new things. What your clients/customers really want is something that they perceive to be better than what's already out there.
And, to be better it doesn't have to be new. There just needs to be a new approach to how things are done. You have to give your clients/customer a new way to interact with what you do. So, what I'm saying is that what you do doesn't have to be different but you can come up with creative ways to make the experience different.
So, by now you're wondering how to make your business stand out without doing something new. Here's three things I want for you to think about when you're trying to figure out how to make your business stand out.
• How do your ideal clients/customers like to learn about the topic that you're an expert in? This is very important. I'm willing to bet that in your niche or industry (whatever!) they're people who while they may be delivering great content are not delivering it the right way. The right way being the way that your ideal clients/customers want to receive. So, if they love to watch training or talking head videos on YouTube then you better get to recording, who cares about how you're looking?!
• How do you plan to get your message in front of them? Now that you know how they like to learn you need to put a marketing strategy in place that supports how they want to learn from you. Remember, that there is a difference between marketing strategy vs marketing tactics. You need a strong strategy in place that is supported by powerful strategies to always be top of mind with them.
• How vulnerable do you want to be? The number one way that what you do in your business can be different is to put your story into everything that you do. No matter how similar what you do is to everyone else who does what you do, the one thing that can never be duplicated is your story. There's no one else who's traveled your path.
My Top 4 Things for How to Make Your Business Stand Out
1. Dealing with New Clients/Customers: how can you make your client intake process stand out? Is there a training program that all of your clients get? Do you send a special kind of gift (we're talking about handwritten poems, drawings from your kids, etc..)
2. Dealing with Existing Clients/Customers: how do you show your existing customers that they're valued. No matter if they've spent $5 or $5,000 they should feel like they're an important part of your business. Make them want to stick around forever.
3. Handling Vendors and Suppliers: how do you show love to your vendors? These are the people who help keep your business ticking and you making money. A simple tweet or Facebook update could make them feel extremely loved and yes, even the big ones out there need love too.
4. Always Over-delivering: no matter what you do, give more than what's expected. Think about the people that you follow and love. One of the things that made you fall in love with them is the fact that they're always giving. Give so much away that it seems pretty much unfair for your ideal clients/customers not to want to invest in working with you.
